Learn with Emilia · Story 1
About “Emilia's ABC Adventure”
- Ages: 2-5
- Length: 10 min
- Season: Learn with Emilia, story 1
From A for apple to Z for zebra, Emilia jumps, splashes, stretches and giggles her way through all 26 letters of the alphabet, then sings the alphabet song.
Every letter here gets its own short page, a big clear shape on screen, one word and one thing to do. Emilia jumps for an apple on A, runs with a kite on K and gives a big yawn on Y that the narrator asks everyone to copy. Friends from other stories drop in: Ellie the elephant sprays water on E, Miss Giraffe bends down for a nose-to-nose boop on G, and Pip claims P for himself. M, N and O slow down into a hushed night scene with the moon, sleeping baby birds and a blinking owl. At the end, all 26 letters come back for the alphabet song.

Tips for grown-ups
- Act out a letter together after its page: jump for A, pop pretend bubbles for B, waddle like the duck on D. A movement gives the letter something to hang on.
- Trace the big letter in the air with your finger while the narrator says its name, then let your child try.
- Start with the letter in your child's name. Find that page, then hunt for things at home that begin with the same letter.
- Use the quiet M, N and O pages as a wind-down. The moon, the nest and the owl are calmer than the letters around them.
- Since the story runs almost ten minutes, it's fine to stop after a handful of letters and pick up there next time.
Talk about it
After watching, ask:
- What did Emilia jump for on the A page?
- Which letter belongs to Pip?
- Who was awake at night?
- What letter does your name start with?
- Which animal had black and white stripes?
- Can you yawn like Emilia?
Try this together
Go on a letter walk around your home: pick one letter from the story, like B, and look for things that start with it, such as a ball, a book or a bed. Then draw that letter big on paper and decorate it together.

Questions parents ask
Does the story teach letter sounds or letter names?
Mostly letter names, each paired with one word. A few words, like xylophone for X and ice cream for I, don't use the sound children usually learn first, which is worth pointing out to older preschoolers.
Is it too long for a two-year-old?
It is the longest story in Learn with Emilia, but each letter stands on its own, so you can watch a few letters at a time and come back for the rest.
